Motorcycle Sport & Leisure Feb 2008 Sam shelters from the rain after his RoSPA Test
RospaSmart has the youngest Rospa Gold Grade rider in the UK
We are delighted that RospaSmart now has the youngest RoSPA Gold Grade rider in the UK. On 5th December 2007, Sam Davis from Gosport in Hampshire put in an excellent ride in appalling weather conditions to achieve the highest possible RoSPA Test grade - Gold - at the age of 18!
Congratulations rolled in from all quarters to the Southampton University student. The result was all the more amazing when you find out that Sam completed the test on a 33 bhp restricted Honda CB500, which remains restricted until May!
Sam's RospaSmart Instructor, Chris Palmer, found it hard to conceal his pride in Sam's achievement. "We've probably put in 1500 miles or so together over the summer/autumn, so it's paid off", said Chris after the test result was told to him by a delighted Sam.
RospaSmart Chief Instructor, Hugh Curran, passed his congratulations to Sam and commented "This is exactly what is needed to dispel the image that Advanced Riding is just for older people. I feel sure that Sam's tremendous result will help RospaSmart to reach out to younger riders and build their riding skills. I am over the moon that Sam has managed this feat at such a young age."
