Membership of the Group is open to all motorcyclists who have passed their Department of Transport Riding Test on a motorcycle or scooter.
The annual subscription for membership is currently £15 plus an £8 joining fee, and £30 to attend the Ride School Talks, a total of £53 for the first year (this is not applicable to the Irish contingent of the Group who will only pay the membership £18 for the first year). This makes you a member of the Group, but not of RoADA (see below). Renewal is due on the 1st of November each year.
Membership of the Group entitles you to receive training from the Group and to participate in Group activities.
To join the Group, fill in the Membership Form (in Acrobat® format) and either send it to our Membership Secretary whose address is on the form, or bring it along to one of our meetings or training sessions (see the Events Diary) and join there and then.
Then, when you pass the national RoSPA Test (which costs £54 as at January 2008), you become a member of RoADAR. A separate membership fee is then payable to them in subsequent years annually. This however entitles you to free retests at the required 3-yearly intervals and you get your very own copy of the gripping publication from RoSPA, 'Care on the Road'.
